HAMPTON, Va. — If you’ve passed by Fort Monroe recently, you’ve likely noticed construction crews and scaffolding, and it’s just the beginning.
The Fort Monroe Authority has officially been given the green light to begin multiple long-awaited projects aimed at breathing new life into the historic site. That includes everything from converting former Army buildings into housing to creating new public memorials.
