Plans for new Costco in Newport News officially approved by city council

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Plans for a new Costco location in Newport News are officially moving forward, with city officials voting to approve the necessary permit for the project during a June 10 city council meeting.

The Newport News City Council granted a Conditional Use Permit to allow for a gasoline supply station on the future Costco site at 12470, 12490, and 12500 Jefferson Avenue — properties currently owned by Ferguson Enterprises and under contract with Costco.
