Businesses encouraged to join Chesapeake’s camera sharing program

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) – The Chesapeake Police Department is asking businesses to join the city’s camera sharing program.

By doing so, the businesses would register their exterior security cameras through the Flock Safety system, which has cameras of its own placed across area cities.

“There is no public safety without the public,” said Chesapeake Police Chief Mark Solesky. “Through this community partnership, businesses have the opportunity to enhance our existing safety network in a way that will benefit all of Chesapeake.”…
