Man sentenced to over 4 years on drug trafficking, firearm charges in Gloucester

GLOUCESTER, Va. (WAVY) — A man was sentenced on Tuesday to over four years in connection with drug trafficking and firearms charges.

According to court documents, on Jan. 16, 2024, 37-year-old Daniel Shaun Smith met up with another individual, where Smith delivered a shotgun to a buyer. Another person also delivered a stolen handgun to a buyer while in Smith’s presence.

Two days later, on Jan. 18, Smith sold another shotgun, as well as ammunition, to a buyer during a controlled purchase. During the transaction, Smith asked if the buyer wanted to use methamphetamine together, court documents state. The buyer said no to the offer…
