TFC Recycling adds paper cups to accepted items list

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) – Half a million households across Hampton Roads can now recycle clear and dry paper cups along with their other accepted items.

TFC Recycling, one of Virginia’s largest residential curbside recyclers, announced it will be using new AI optical sorting technology to be able to add paper cups to its residential recycling programs.

This was made possible because of a grant from the Foodservice Packaging Institute (FPI) and NextGen Consortium.
