Community voices sought for regional park design in Suffolk

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Suffolk Parks and Recreation are inviting local residents to a public input meeting July 29 regarding the future of a new regional park in the area of Chuckatuck and Oakland.

Officials say the meeting gives the community a chance to voice their ideas for the park along with sharing any feedback about what potential additions would best serve the surrounding community.

“We want to ensure that this project reflects the needs and desires of those who live in the area,” said Director of Suffolk Parks & Recreation Mark Furlo “Your input is vital in helping us shape a space that supports recreation, relaxation, and connection for all.”

The event will take place from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Chuckatuck Fire Department. There is also an option for online input via suffolkparksandrec.com
