PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Friday morning, Rivers Casino in Portsmouth announced the construction company that will work on The Landing Hotel.

According to a release from Rivers Casino, S.B. Ballard Construction Company — a Norfolk-based company — was chosen as the general contractor for the highly-anticipated hotel, which is expected to bring more revenue to the city by giving people a reason to stay longer in Portsmouth.

The Landing Hotel, which is a $65 million privately funded development, is expected to start construction on Victory Boulevard in the summer and be completed by early 2027, the release states.
