WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WAVY) — Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin signed House Bill 2033 into law in front of hundreds of people inside the Williamsburg Community Building. It was standing room only as the governor puts another cog in his team’s machine against human traffickers.
This new law allows Alcoholic Beverage Control retail licensees to train workers on how to spot the signs of trafficking.
“The big point here is to make sure that people who will most likely come in contact with those that might be trafficked can identify what’s going on and then say something,” Governor Youngkin said. “You see something, say something. It’s been a huge part of our training and education side of our human trafficking agenda in order to combat and eradicate human trafficking in the Commonwealth.”…
