Wakefield, Va. – After a stretch of cooler, less humid days, Virginia will see summer heat and sticky air return starting Monday, with temperatures climbing toward the low 90s and scattered storms developing by midweek.
According to the National Weather Service in Wakefield, tonight will be partly cloudy and cool, with lows between 55 and 65 inland and warmer along the Southeast coast. Sunday will turn slightly warmer, reaching 80 to 85 degrees, with only a stray shower possible along the northern Outer Banks.
By Monday, seasonably warm air and rising humidity will settle in, with highs in the upper 80s. Scattered afternoon and evening storms are possible late in the day, especially across southern areas. Tuesday through Friday will bring highs in the upper 80s to low 90s, along with higher humidity and a daily risk of afternoon storms.
