VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Classes are back in full swing at several schools in Hampton Roads. Classes in Suffolk, Newport News, and Hampton are back in session Monday morning. 13News Now caught up to students at Landstown Elementary School in Virginia Beach, where everyone rushed in ready to start the school year.
Virginia Beach City Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Donald Robertson says staff and faculty will see new security upgrades.
“Because Safety is a priority kids can’t learn if they don’t feel safe. Staff can’t teach if they don’t feel safe,” stated Dr. Robertson. “We have some really good protocols in place; parents will find that they can’t just walk into school without being buzzed after showing their id.”…
