No Powerball winner, but Va. sees over 58,000 winning tickets, including a $1 million win from Carrollton

CARROLLTON, Va. (WAVY) — No one won the big prize during Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing, but several people throughout Virginia still have something to smile about.

According to the Virginia Lottery, over 58,000 people in the Commonwealth were able to win something during the Aug. 27 Powerball drawing, including a $2 million winning ticket from Spotsylvania and a $1 million winning ticket from Carrollton.

The winning ticket from Spotsylvania was purchased from Weis Markets on Courthouse Road, and the one from Carrollton was purchased at the 7-Eleven located on Carrollton Boulevard.

Since no one was able to match all six numbers, the Powerball jackpot for Saturday’s drawing has grown to $950 million…
