Two ordered to pay $39,000 for vet costs in Suffolk horse neglect case

SUFFOLK, Va. — More than 20 horses were seized after the Suffolk Animal Control Division found six dead horses on a Buckhorn Drive property. Now, two suspects will have to pay tens of thousands of dollars in vet expenses for the horses seized from their property.

This comes after the property owners, William Shelton and Janet Asto,n were indicted weeks ago, each facing 96 charges relating to animal neglect.
