2 Arrested For Elder Abuse And Exploitation In Virginia

A Virginia man and woman are facing elder abuse charges after they claimed to be primary caretakers of a “bedridden” 58-year-old they were allegedly financially exploiting, authorities said.

The Mathews County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a residence in the area of Morgans Branch Road near Dutton on Sept. 2 for a report of possible elder abuse. They arrived to find a 58-year-old resident who was bedridden, along with two other individuals in the home who claimed to be the victim’s caretakers.
