CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Three people died in an overnight crash involving an ambulance Sunday in Chesapeake, according to Virginia State Police.
The accident happened around 2:35 a.m. on Interstate 464 southbound at Exit 2.
State police say a 2024 Ford Econoline ambulance was traveling south on I-464 when it was struck head-on by a 2022 Lexus Sedan that was traveling north in the southbound lanes. The collision resulted in both vehicles catching fire.
The driver and passenger of the ambulance, owned by Midwest Medical in North Carolina, suffered life-threatening injuries and were taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where they later died, police said…
