HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – Ashton Burton, a senior at Hampton University, has dreamed of taking to the skies since he was in high school. After years of training and dedication, that dream is coming true.
Burton is a college student currently enrolled with Rick Aviation in Newport News. He’s been flying planes since he was in high school and has pursued his dream of becoming a pilot for years.
“I had a mentor. He gave me the opportunity to go up to Delaware State to get my pilot’s license,” said Burton. “It was an eight-week course, went through that, came through with my pilot’s license and ever since then I’ve pretty much been in love with aviation.”…
