HAMPTON, Va. — The nor’easter that moved through Hampton Roads over the weekend brought gusty winds, rough surf, and tidal flooding, but overall, city officials in Hampton said impacts were minor.
By Monday morning, much of the water that had washed over Buckroe Beach’s boardwalk had receded, leaving behind damp sand and a few debris piles, a familiar sight for coastal residents.
“Obviously, Buckroe looks very different today than it did on Sunday, which we’re happy about,” said Michael Holtzclaw, communications director for the City of Hampton. “All of the areas that were flooded or had high water on Sunday are passable.”…
