Cameron Brown, 20, was charged with second-degree murder, conspiracy and use of a firearm in connection with the Sept. 2, 2023 murder of George just after a Spartans home game around 11 p.m.

Recently, in July of 2025, 20-year-old Camari Warren was found not guilty on all charges related to the homicide. One of the other suspects initially charged with murder, Marquas Gregg, had his charges withdrawn in March of 2024.

During the trial for Warren, a Norfolk police detective testified that he believed Brown to be the one who shot George. A friend of both Warren and Brown, Anthony Pugh, also testified that Brown, who was driving a stolen blue Dodge Charger at the time, noticed George, along with several others, parked nearby Pugh’s vehicle, leading to a six-minute phone call with Warren.
