NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) – A man was charged with second-degree murder Sunday, Nov. 2, after the death of his brother, according to the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called to the scene at 10563 Occohannock Blvd around 2:31 p.m. for reports of an unresponsive man. When they arrived, they found the man was dead and determined the victim was 43-year-old Adam Todd Ashby.
“When I came home that afternoon the ambulance was waiting at the stop sign,” said an anonymous neighbor, “when I started in, the ambulance started to move into the neighborhood, so I pulled over. When they got by, they pulled up in front of their house. I saw them with Sam in handcuffs, the brother was laid out on the ground. We had no idea what was going on.
Adam’s brother, 46-year-old Samuel Pettit Ashby, was charged with second-degree murder in connection to the incident. Deputies say both Samuel and Adam resided at the location of the incident…
