VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Several sites across Coastal Virginia will receive significant support for land preservation and public access as part of a new round of Virginia Land Conservation Foundation (VLCF) grants announced Tuesday by Gov. Glenn Youngkin.
The state awarded $15.5 million to protect 8,606 acres statewide, with 28 projects funded for fiscal year 2026.
Among them are key acquisitions and conservation easements in Virginia Beach, Surry County and Southampton County, all aimed at preserving natural resources, working lands and outdoor recreation opportunities…
