CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday morning on I-64 in Chesapeake, according to Virginia State Police.
State police said the crash happened around 6:55 a.m. on I-64 eastbound.
The pedestrian, identified as 51-year-old Cliff O. Garris, was hit by a 2023 Honda Civic on the interstate and subsequently died at the scene. The driver of the Honda Civic, Ilsia Mendoza, did remain on scene. He was charged with failure to maintain control…
