NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The push to obtain direct flights to Europe is poised to take another step forward, with the formation of a group that’ll help raise money to incentivize the service.
Last month, the board of the Hampton Roads Executive Roundtable, which is made up of chief executive officers from the region, voted to form the Hampton Roads Transatlantic Air Service Coalition (HRTASC). HRTASC would be a special committee empowered to gather funds from businesses, government grants and community organizations and then use them to secure transatlantic service to Norfolk International Airport.
