Winter Storm Causes Early Closures and Road Changes in Williamsburg Area

On Monday, December 8, the City of Williamsburg made several changes due to a winter storm. City offices, including the Municipal Building on Lafayette Street and the Quarterpath Recreation Center, closed early at 2 p.m. Waller Mill Park closed at 12:30 p.m.

Williamsburg-James City County Schools and offices, and the Williamsburg Regional Library, also closed for the day. The library closed at 2:30 p.m. The Williamsburg-James City County Courthouse closed at noon.

The National Weather Service forecasted 3 to 4 inches of snow for the area as of 12:30 p.m. Public Works and Utilities crews started preparing roads on Sunday by applying brine to main and secondary roads…
