NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — A Newport News veterinarian is facing the possibility of suspension — and potentially the loss of his license — after more than 30 allegations of patient mistreatment were formally filed with the Virginia Board of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Les Sekut, who practices at the Newport News Animal Hospital, is the subject of a Notice of Informal Conference issued by the board. The document outlines multiple allegations that will be reviewed during an upcoming hearing.
According to the notice, the allegations include failing to properly treat patients, not performing necessary surgeries, delaying required radiographs and blood tests, inadequate record-keeping, and administering incorrect medication dosages.
