JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — Two James City County police officers were cleared of any wrongdoing after they shot and killed a man who had shot at them in the parking lot of a Food Lion adjoining the Williamsburg Premium Outlets in March, a police official said.

Virginia State Police investigated the shooting, and the Commonwealth’s Attorney reviewed it before clearing the officers of any wrongdoing, according to the police official, who said an internal review confirmed the officers did not violate any policies or procedures during the incident.
