ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY, Va. (WAVY)– A Chesapeake man faces several charges after flock cameras identified a stolen vehicle in Rockbridge County Monday morning.
According to officials, the Office of the Sheriff for Rockbridge County and Lexington City received an alert, just before noon, from a Flock Safety License Plate Reader that identified a stolen vehicle reported out of the city of Virginia Beach. Law enforcement immediately responded to the area in effort to locate the vehicle.
An officer quickly located the vehicle at White’s Travel Center in Raphine and initiated surveillance until additional units arrived. Officials boxed in the vehicle, conducted a felony traffic stop and took the driver into custody without incident.
