Norfolk man, 21, gets 10 years for exploiting minors via Instagram, says FBI

NORFOLK, Va. — A 21-year-old Norfolk man was sentenced Thursday to 10 years in federal prison for coercion and enticement of a minor, according to court records.

Investigators began looking into the case in June 2024 after learning of an Instagram account selling child sexual abuse material (CSAM). The account was traced to 21-year-old Isaiah Amery Muniz’s Norfolk residence. Authorities determined Muniz was using multiple Instagram accounts to sell and distribute CSAM and to contact minors.

Court documents show Muniz encouraged a 12-year-old victim to create and send explicit images, at one point offering $50 through Cash App. He later attempted, unsuccessfully, to obtain similar material from another suspected minor.
