POQUOSON, Va. — A major road closure is set to impact drivers in Poquoson, Yorktown and Hampton beginning early next year as construction continues on the Wythe Creek Road Widening Project.
Starting as early as Monday, Jan. 5, 2026, a portion of Carys Chapel Road will close at its intersection with Wythe Creek Road to allow crews to build a new bridge and make intersection improvements. The long-term closure is expected to remain in place through fall 2026, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
