On the evening of December 3, 2025, the Roosevelt Fire Department, along with mutual aid companies, operated at the scene of a well-involved house fire on Grant Street off Washington Avenue. Firefighters put multiple handlines into operation for heavy fire in a two-story private dwelling. Despite early reports of people possibly trapped, all occupants made it out of the home safely. There were no serious injuries, and the cause of the fire was under investigation. Roosevelt Chief of Department Hector Tyler, Jr., had command.
