Hampton woman chooses $7 million lump sum over daily prize

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – A Hampton woman won the top prize playing the Virginia Lottery’s Cash4Life® game. She had the option to get paid $1,000 per day for the rest of her life or a one-time cash option of $7 million. She chose the up-front millions!

The woman decided to remain anonymous. In Virginia, anyone who wins a prize worth $1 million and more has the option to claim the prize anonymously. Otherwise, the Virginia Lottery will publicly announce the winner’s name.
