1 person displaced after fire at Christopher Crossing Apartments in Newport News

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Fire crews responded early Tuesday morning to an apartment fire at the Christopher Crossing Apartments on Logan Place in Newport News.

Dozens of Newport News Fire Department units were on scene near Warwick Boulevard, with multiple roads temporarily shut down as crews worked. No active flames or smoke were visible when crews arrived, but firefighters stretched hose lines and deployed a ladder truck as a precaution.

Fire officials said the fire was located inside the wall of an apartment and was quickly extinguished. The building’s occupant was alerted by smoke alarms, evacuated safely, and no injuries were reported…
