JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — A man has died after a fire at a home on Jordan’s Journey in the First Colony subdivision near Jamestown Wednesday night, James City County Fire Chief Ryan Ashe said.
Ashe said county firefighters got the call at 7:16 p.m. for a fire in the 100 block of Jordan’s Journey after a neighbor called 911 and reported a fire showing from the rear of the home.
Fire crews arrived to find “significant” fire showing from two sides of the home, and, due to the fire conditions, firefighters were not able to enter the home to complete a search and they had to attack the fire from the outside, Ashe said.
A man was found inside the home and was determined to have died at the scene, Ashe said…
