Larceny suspect shot by Suffolk Police officer, arrested after multi-city pursuit

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A suspected larcenist was arrested following a multi-city police pursuit and being shot by a Suffolk Police Officer Wednesday morning, according to police.

Suffolk Police were investigating a larceny in the 1200 block of North Main Street at approximately 7:55 a.m. When police arrived, the suspect fled the scene in their vehicle.

As the suspect fled, he approached a crash scene on Portsmouth Boulevard and drove into oncoming traffic and nearly struck a Suffolk Police officer to exit the scene. The officer discharged a single round from their firearm and struck the suspect.

The offender continued to elude police and a multi-jurisidictional pursuit ensued…
