YORK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) – Sheetz is expanding into Hampton Roads.

The York County Board of Supervisors approved a proposal to bring a Sheetz to the area.
According to the “Find a Sheetz” map, there are no other Sheetz locations in the WAVY viewing area.
The new gas station location is planned for the intersection of George Washington Memorial Highway (Route 17) and Fort Eustis Boulevard. It was approved during a public hearing held on Jan. 20, 2026, in York County. The convenience store will be situated in front of Publix, and next to an Arby’s, a city spokesperson confirmed to WAVY.
The approval includes the adoption of proposed Ordinance 26-1, which aims to rezone 1.82 acres taken from four adjacent parcels totaling 3.88 acres at the addresses 7900, 7908, 7914 and 7920 George Washington Memorial Highway.
