NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Across Hampton Roads, people are getting ready for a winter storm expected to hit the region over the weekend as some headed to hardware stores in search of supplies like salt and shovels.
At Taylor’s Do It Center on Colley Avenue in Norfolk, that’s exactly what people were looking for — bags of salt for melting ice.
“I’m looking for anything that I can melt ice with,” said Tom Larson, who bought three bags of salt. “I mean, it was bad last weekend. We had to cancel our church worship service because the ice on the roads. And there’s supposed to be another snow weekend. But I don’t know how bad it’s going to be, but I want to make sure the sidewalks are clean for our members.”…
