NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — The aircraft carrier John F. Kennedy (CVN 79), the second Gerald R. Ford-class carrier, has completed builder’s sea trials, according to HII on Facebook.
PCU John F. Kennedy (CVN 79) returned to Newport News Shipbuilding on Feb. 4 after a week underway, marking the first at-sea testing of key ship systems and components. On Jan. 28, the nation’s newest carrier, PCU John F. Kennedy – CVN 79, departed Newport News Shipbuilding to begin builder’s sea trials, marking the first at-sea testing of critical ship systems and components.
