NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – 10 On Your Side has confirmed that there was a fuel spill into the James River on Friday around 1 p.m., according to a Huntington Ingalls Industries representative. Multiple sate and local agencies are working to clean and remediate at this time.
According to Newport News shipbuilders, a fuel spill was identified during a JP5 fuel load transfer from a Navy barge to the John F. Kennedy (CVN 79).
