HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY)– One person was taken to the hospital, and two others were evaluated following an apartment complex fire on Marcella Road Monday afternoon, according to the Hampton Division of Fire and Rescue.
Crews were dispatched to a three-story apartment structure in the 200 block of Marcella Road at approximately 12 p.m. after a report of a room on fire. Upon arrival, they discovered smoke and flames coming from the back of the building.
An evacuation of the building then initiated. Crews began search, rescue and suppression of the apartments and structure.
Three people were evaluated with one being taken to a local hospital for care.
