NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — The Newport News Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect accused of theft and assaulting a loss prevention officer at a Target.
On Feb. 16, officers responded to Target, located in the 12000 block of Jefferson Avenue, at approximately 1:15 p.m. for a report of an assault.
Police said the suspect, who is a known visitor to the store, was reported to have concealed merchandise in his possession, passed all points of sale and assaulted a loss prevention officer on the way out of the store. He then left the area on a black bicycle in the direction of Hancock Drive.
