Newport News seeks clean neighborhoods through initiative

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Keeping Newport News neighborhoods clean, safe and welcoming is the focus of the Good Neighbor Patrol initiative put into play by the city.

In a recent community survey, 88% of Newport News residents ranked eliminating neglected and Vacant buildings as a top priority and only 17% were satisfied with progress.
