Blog: Fantastic first weekend of spring

Happy Saturday! It’s the first official weekend of Spring and I think Mother Nature got the memo. This weekend will be beautiful along with much of the workweek.

Scattered rain showers passed through early this morning ahead of a weak cold front. Rain cleared out around sunrise and we’ll remain dry the rest of the day. Clouds will also continue to clear this morning, leaving us with lots of sunshine throughout the day. Great weather for the Shamrock Marathon activities at the Oceanfront today! Temperatures were in the low-mid 50s for the 8K and will rise into the mid-upper 60s this afternoon.

Tonight, passing clouds early, then dense patchy fog developing after a warm front lifts north through the region. Overnight lows will be in the upper 40s to low 50s.

Under the warm sector of that system, Sunday will be very warm. After the fog clears and the sun breaks out, temperatures will rapidly climb to the low 80s.

The cold front from that system arrives Monday. A stray shower is possible around the front, but there doesn’t look to be a lot of moisture associated with this front, so I expect most areas to stay dry. We’ll notice passing clouds and cooler air. Highs on Monday in the mid 60s fall to highs only around 50° Tuesday…
