Woman hurt following stabbing on Executive Drive in Hampton; suspect sought

HAMPTON, Va.(WAVY)– A woman is hurt after being stabbed in Hampton Friday evening.

According to police, officers were called to the 2100 block of Executive Drive at 8:13 p.m. for the report of a stabbing. When officers arrived, they found a woman in the parking lot suffering from a non-life-threatening injury. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

After investigating, it was revealed the victim and suspect knew each other and were involved in a physical altercation while seated inside a vehicle. During the altercation, the suspect stabbed the victim with a knife then fled the scene.

Police have identified the suspect as 47-year-old- John Baker. He has warrants on file for the following charges:

  • Aggravated Malicious Wounding
  • Domestic Assault
  • Preventing the Use of 911
  • Violation of an Emergency Protective Order
