NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Students and staff returned at Old Dominion University Monday following spring break. Two days before it was set to begin, a gunman with ties to terrorism killed a beloved campus instructor.

The university’s 25,000 students came back from spring break to a completely different campus. ODU has more than 20 tents set up as an access point for students to get resources and there is a QR code they can scan when they come up to the table.
The memorial to Lieutenant Colonel Brandon Shah, who was shot and killed on March 12, continues to grow. Constant Hall will remain closed for the remainder of the semester as a result of the fatal shooting.
