YORK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — Residents have been displaced after a house fire on Old York Hampton Highway in Yorktown Tuesday evening, according to the York County Fire Department.
At around 11:30 p.m. on March 24, the department’s personnel were dispatched to a reported house fire in the 1700 block of Old York Hampton Highway. When the personnel arrived to the scene, they saw flames coming from the house. Firefighters deployed hose lines to conduct an interior and exterior attack.
The department had the fire under control within 30 minutes. Crews stayed at the scene to conduct overhaul operations, extinguish hotspots and ensure the fire didn’t reignite. The fire was marked as extinguished at 2 a.m. on March 25.
