NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — On March 24, a woman was sentenced to a year in prison after pleading guilty to eluding law enforcement in Norfolk in 2025, according to the Norfolk Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office.
Just after midnight on Dec. 16, 2025, a Norfolk Police patrol officer saw a vehicle near the intersection of Tidewater Drive and St. Julian Avenue matching a vehicle that was under investigation for a crime in Chesapeake. The officer then attempted to pull the vehicle over.
The vehicle’s driver, Kendria Powell, 35, ignored the police car and sped off. Powell drove on the wrong side of the road multiple times while reaching speeds up to 70 mph, turned off her headlights, and ran nine red lights and stop signs…
