Gloucester man arrested after two-day search, sheriff’s office reports

GLOUCESTER COUNTY, Va. — A Gloucester man has been taken into custody after over two days on the run, according to the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office.

Law enforcement has been looking for Douglas Neil Hegamyer since Saturday, when the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office says he was involved in an altercation with another male involving a firearm. He allegedly ran into the woods in the area of the 10400 block of Harcum Road.

Hegamyer was wanted on charges of possession of firearm by a convicted felon, maliciously shoot at occupied vehicle, and purchase/transport gun while under protective order…
