Survivor’s message to children with cancer: “Stay strong, you have to have a good mindset”

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – When Armani was only 11, she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Armani is now in college in Hampton Roads.

“I’m a recreational therapy major, and in life right now, I’m honestly just still navigating life as adversities still come at me. But allowing my experience with cancer to guide me and not forgetting where I come from,” Armani told WAVY.

When she found out she had cancer, she decided, “I will stay strong. Not that hard to stay strong.  You just have to have a good mindset.”…
