PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — It’s been a turbulent year for many ports across the United States. First, they’ve had to navigate tariffs, and now, it’s the war in Iran.
But despite the chaos, leaders with the Port of Virginia say it’s been a great year for the facility as they turn that chaos into the new norm.
According to interim Virginia Port Authority CEO Sarah McCoy, 2025 saw the highest productivity, and the second-most revenue in the port’s history. The year also finished with a 50% reduction for incidents since 2020, with a pledge to reduce the rate by another 50% by 2030…
