VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – 10 On Your Side saw a variety of gas prices around Hampton Roads Thursday. Most sat around that 4.17 average for the area. Some were a bit lower, around 4.09 a gallon. Others, like one gas station off Indian River Road in Virginia Beach, list gas at 4.49 a gallon. 32 cents more than the average for Hampton Roads.
As oil prices surge above $100 a barrel, the national average increased by 27 cents in just the past week, according to AAA. While Hampton Roads is still below the national average, the price increase rate remains the same, about 26 cents more per gallon compared to last week.
