Mother in Norfolk AMBER Alert case granted bond as man who took child faces no charges

NORFOLK, Va. — New developments in the case involving a 2-year-old at the center of last week’s AMBER Alert in Norfolk.

Ashley Dagner, 35, was granted a $2,500 personal recognizance bond during a hearing Monday in Norfolk Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court. Under the conditions of her release, she must submit to drug and alcohol testing and have no contact with the two children involved in the case.

Dagner is charged with two counts of child endangerment and one count of domestic assault. Prosecutors said in court that she was intoxicated, and the charges stem from her actions before the AMBER Alert was issued. Court documents state a man involved in the incident had facial injuries, and police say Dagner admitted to punching him and driving under the influence with the child not properly restrained…
