WASHINGTON, D.C. (WAVY) — The American Humane Society recently announced the semi-finalists of this year’s Hero Dog Awards, with a Norfolk dog in the semifinals.
The national competition recognizes America’s top dogs, including therapy dogs, service dogs, military dogs, law enforcement dogs, and first responder dogs.
Sage, who is a six-year-old Labrador Retriever, is Norfolk-based and one of the five semi-finalists in the military dog category. She lives on the USS Gerald R. Ford, serving as the Expeditionary Facility Dog aboard.
